The Teaching Team

Teresa Muir

Principal - Member of ATOD Ltd, EDTA and Al Gilbert.

I have been running Elite School of Dance for over 39 years. I studied at the British Ballet Organization in England for a few years at the age of 11. It was after that when I came to Australia and pursued to get my qualifications in EDTA in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, National, Spanish and Highland and becoming an Examiner in EDTA and Al Gilbert. During this era, there was no online videos of the work available, therefore all the syllabus was taught from a book, and I still remember them to this day. To enhance Elite, I then joined the Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) syllabus and believe it is the perfect fit for my studio. I always say you are never too old to start dancing as I was 28 with 2 children when I started my dancing career and have never looked back since, it has been my passion and my love. My team and I always strive to make a comfortable learning environment for students to come and learn how to express themselves through dance.

Rebecca Moles

Teacher

After starting dance at 13, I completed my training at the Elite School of Dance and earned a Diploma in classical ballet technique through EDTA, as well as some training through ATOD. I have taught at the school for 10 years and trained students in jazz, ballet, hip hop and contemporary. After a brief hiatus to pursue a Master of Dietetics, I’ve returned to the school in a teaching and administrative role. I have a passion for supporting dancers through nutrition, and helping students gain confidence in their technique and individuality through dance.

Saskia Wright

Teacher

I moved to Australia from South Africa in 2020. I currently work as a new graduate Paediatric Occupational Therapist to assist children and their families in becoming more independent. In my free time I enjoy dancing, camping and spending time with family and friends. Moving to Australia allowed me to push my dance technique and grow as a dancer. Elite School of Dance has guided and supported my journey as I move into teaching. I have been dancing for the past 18 years and I have taught dancing previously in South Africa for 3 years. I was selected in 2019 to participate and dance in New York. I thoroughly enjoy working with kids and young adults to spark their passion for dance.

Penny Baker

Teacher

I’ve been part of Elite School of Dance since 2011, training in ballet, jazz, contemporary and tap. During these past years, I have completed many exams across these styles, which have helped me developed both as a dancer and teacher. For the past year, I have loved teaching and sharing my passion for dance with our students. I focus on creating a positive and encouraging environment where dancers can build their skills and confidence. Seeing students improve and enjoy themselves in class is truly rewarding. Outside of teaching, I am studying a bachelor of commerce and working part time as an undergraduate accountant.

Alice Donaghey

Assistant Teacher

I've been dancing at the Elite School of Dance for 14 years, from which I have gained extensive knowledge in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and tap. Throughout my years as an assistant teacher, I have developed a strong passion towards helping students learn new skills and develop as dancers. Now working independently as a teacher of the school, I strive to support students both as individuals and as team members within group ensembles, and do so by regularly refining my skills and teaching approach to better support the school.
